Responsibilities

  • Providing everyday technical and operational support to users of GIS software.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic data to create maps and reports.
  • Perform spatial analysis and modeling using GIS software.
  • Manage GIS projects, including coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring project deadlines are met.
  • Create and update maps, charts, and other visual representations of spatial data.
  • Create/Maintain step by step documentation for new procedures, products and/or code deliverables.
  • Conduct training for new procedures, products and/or code deliverables.
  • Work in a team atmosphere to brainstorm and define requirements for trouble shooting issues and providing solution.
  • Proper prioritization of personal workload, considering impact on department objectives, while working independently with minimal supervision and support.
  • Efficient and timely production of assigned work. Be dependable and reliable; completing all projects on or before the given timeline.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education Level: High School or Equivalent
  • Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Five Years relatable experience within a GIS/Technical environment. Experience with workflows in a production environment ideal.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS software for mapping, spatial analysis, and database management.
  • Strong understanding of GIS principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Scripting skills, such as Python, to automate repetitive tasks in GIS workflows.
  • Superb communication skills and a desire to collaborate openly within a fast-moving team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Individuals holding this position may be assigned to project teams, work independently, or lead others on a project team, as assigned.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts as appropriate to the level of the audience.
  • Ability to work self-directed and as part of a team on projects of varying size; works well on multi-functional project teams and shows commitment to tasks, project, and to team.

  • C#, WPF, Python
  • SQL
  • ADO (Azure DevOps)
  • HTML/XML
  • ESRI Portal, Dashboard, Web Maps etc.
  • Feature Manipulation Engine (FME Flow/ FME Form)
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access, Teams etc.) 

The hiring range for this position dependent on final grade and title is $60,900 to $87,600 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM Global’s comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, generous health and well-being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, time off allowances and much more.
